Malaysian mobile phone top-ups and electronic payments group MobilityOne joined Aim on 5 July.

The shares rose from 12.5p to 13.25p on the first day’s trading. The business generates commissions on services provided or a fee for each transaction. It can also generate revenues from licensing its software. MobilityOne’s software can be used on terminals, ATMs, mobile phones or via the internet. Pre-paid mobile top-ups are one use for the technology. Others include bill payments and e-ticketing. MobilityOne is already profitable and it plans to expand in nearby Asian countries. It is already talking to a potential partner in Cambodia.  MobilityOne is similar to fellow Malaysian mobile top-up business e-pay Asia. The big difference between the two is that MobilityOne owns all the rights to its main software.
