OMG’s Yotta DCL subsidiary has won a contract with Nottingham County Council and this adds to the £1.3m of contracts won by Yotta in the first four months of 2010.

Yotta uses OMG’s motion capture software to survey highways and pavements plus the assets related to them. Yotta will be surveying Nottingham CC’s whole road network over the coming year. This will provide an inventory of assets which will help Nottingham to target its maintenance spending.

Yotta contributed £3.11m of OMG’s revenue of £14.4m in the six months to March 2010, up from £13.6m in the corresponding period of the previous year. Yotta’s contribution fell slightly. Pre-tax profit rose from £922,000 to £1.25m, helped by a reduction in R&D spending. There was £4.08m in the bank at the end of March 2010.

This latest deal follows a contract win last week in the entertainment sector. OMG’s Vicon motion capture software will be used to help create a new superhero.

That deal is with the National Hockey League and Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment. The idea is to create 30 superhero guardians – on for each NHL team.

At 27.25p a share, OMG is valued at £18.6m.
