PHSC has signed heads of agreement to buy air and water hygiene services company Guardian Water Treatment.

The health and environmental services company will pay up to £2.15m for Guardian and it is PHSC’s largest acquisition. The initial payment is £900,000 with a further £400,000 payable one year after the acquisition happens. There could be up to £400,000 more payable depending on profits reaching £600,000 in the year to March 2009. Guardian generated profits of £263,000 on revenues of £2.1m in the year to March 2007.

Guardian provides water tank disinfection and cleaning plus water treatment. It also cleans kitchen extractors, provides biocidal disinfection and monitors air quality.

The acquisition will widen the range of services PHSC can offer. PHSC has reported that it made profits of £255,000 in the four months to July 2007.
