Plant Impact has submitted a dossier for European registration of BugOil.

This is the first step in the process that will enable the company to sell BugOil in Europe. First sales are expected in 2010.

BugOil is an insect and pest control liquid that is extracted from essential plant oil. It is the plant’s way of repelling insects so it is non-toxic.

The pest control market is worth more than $1bn and growing at 4% a year.

BugOil is already being used in Tanzania on roses.

Plant Impact shares rose 1.5p from an all time low to 23.5p, valuing the company at £6.18m.
