Digital screen advertising company RAM Active Media has secured a deal with Land Securities covering six of its UK shopping centres.

They include Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, The White Rose in Leeds, The Galleria in Hatfield and the O2 Centre in Finchley Road and all six have a total of 67.5m visitors each year. RAM will manage the large format screens, schedule content and sell advertising.

The shares rose 12% to 1.12p, which values RAM at £5.31m.

RAM is already the largest large format screen broadcaster in shopping centres with 29 screens covering more than 670m visitors each year.

RAM has the rights to a new type of 3D TV screen technology for the UK and other parts of the world. The technology, which does not require special glasses, has been developed by a German company and partly financed by a Dubai business and they have the rights to those territories. The technology is still being refined so that the angle of the viewer to the screen does not matter. RAM wants to roll out the technology to shopping centres and sell advertising to finance the service. A leasing model is likely to be used.
