Packaging manufacturer Robinson says that its 2007 turnover fell by 11%.

The reduction was due to the loss of a customer by the paperboard division. This should be partially offset this year by a new two year contract to supply gravy granule cartons.

There was a small increase in plastic packaging turnover but UK turnover was lower because more production is being transferred to Poland.

UK capacity is being reduced and this should mean lower costs in 2008. The restructuring will lead to a £700,000 write down on plant and machinery. A revised planning application for surplus property in Chesterfield will be submitted in early 2008.

The shares dipped 7.5p to 81.5p on this news. The 2007 results will be published on 14 March.
