SDI Group has won a £3m sorting systems contract from French sports clothing retailer Decathlon.

The systems integrator of materials handling systems for distribution centres says that £1.8m of the contract will be recognised in the year to March 2010 and the rest next year. SDI has already installed five sorting systems for Decathlon and another order is expected during the first half of this year. There could be a further two sites on top of that.

SDI reported revenues of £23.1m in the six months to September 2009 and it moved back into profit during the period. Net cash was £3.9m, which was helped by a reduction in working capital.

SDI expects other retailers to decide on their investment plans in the next few weeks.

At 7.75p a share, SDI is valued at £8.47m.
