Seeing Machines

Seeing Machines has announced the first contract following its recent master purchasing agreement with Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold Inc.

The company will supply Driver State Sensor monitoring equipment to the Grasberg mine in Indonesia. Grasberg is the largest gold mine and the third largest copper mine in the world

Seeing Machines designs integrated software and digital camera technology that tracks facial movement and reactions. Driver State Sensor systems are devices fitted in vehicles to assess driver distraction and drowsiness.

The system will be fitted in haul trucks, which cost up to $5m each, at the Grasberg mine and may be used on other vehicles in the future.

Seeing Machines is expected to return to profit in the year to June 2010.

At 2.875p a share, up 0.125p on the day, Seeing Machines is valued at £8.97m. The share price has risen by 155% over the past year.
