Sigma Capital plans an eighth property limited partnership and a property recovery fund.

The property and venture capital funds manager has just over £300m of funds under management - most are in property funds.

The university IP business has been spun off into a Plus-quoted shell called Frontier IP. Sigma will end up with 77.4% of Frontier IP. Frontier IP has a 10-year partnership with the University of Dundee and 25-year partnership with Robert Gordon University.

Frontier IP will help these universities to commercialise technologies in return for share in any spin-offs and a share of licensing revenues. Frontier IP plans to develop relationships with other universities.

The NAV is 15.9p a share but this will increase by 7.5p a share following the Frontier IP deal.

Net cash was £3.8m at the end of 2008. Since then Frontier IP has become a subsidiary and it has £1m in cash and the total net cash figure is now £5.1m.

At 12.75p a share, which values Sigma at £5.96m.
