Experiential marketing company SpaceandPeople says trading has significantly improved in the first quarter.

Billings increased by 18% to £2.88m in the three months to January 2010. German revenues are ahead of budget. The growth is organic and the cost base is stable so more of the additional revenues are falling through to profit.

SpaceandPeople sells and manages promotional space in shopping centres. It represents more than 300 venues with a total of more than 28m customers each week. Another 40 venues could be added in the UK. The company reckons that its clients are starting to spend more on non-traditional marketing.

At 70p a share, up 18p on the day, SpaceandPeople is valued at £8.16m. The company reported profits of £506,000 in the year to October 2009.
