Turbotec, which makes heat exchangers and flexible connectors, has made strong progress in the first quarter.
Turnover rose 28% to $7.25m in the three months to June 2007, while pre-tax profits jumped 68% to $771,000. Demand for high efficiency heat pumps is rising because of requirements to reduce energy costs and waste. The boiler replacement market in schools was also strong. Trading may not remain this strong but Turbotec believes that it will continue to grow.
Turbotec has also been successful in passing on raw material cost increases.
