Brulines paid £381,000 for its 8.33% stake in Universe Group.
The payment and loyalty systems supplier says that it is in talks with a potential bidder but has not revealed its name. Brulines, the beer dispensing measurement systems supplier which also has a business that monitors the loss of fuel at petrol forecourts, would seem a potential bidder even if it is not the company that Universe is talking to at the moment.
Bruline’s petrol forecourt services division appointed Phil Maud as its managing director on 2 September. Maud had been director of petrol forecourts at Morrisons Supermarkets for eight years. Morrisons is one of Universe’s big customers.
The Universe share price slipped back 0.125p to 5.375p, which values the company at £6.17m.
At 105p a share, Brulines is valued at £29.3m.
