Retail and loyalty systems provider Universe says that its results will be in line with expectations.
Those expectations were downgraded last November when the company said its 2007 figures would be better than the previous year’s but not as good as originally expected.
Subsidiary, HTEC, has won a new contract with Murco for its HydraPOS software worth around £500,000 in 2008. It will be installed in Murco’s Costcutter stores.
Universe is also expanding into car valeting. It is buying a Bedford-based business that trades as Jet Set. It manufactures and installs car washing equipment and has a national service team of 19 people. Universe is paying £434,000, with up to £150,000 more payable depending on performance. A move into Scotland is planned through the proposed purchase of WSF Services. This should happen at the end of February.
The Co-op wants Universe to install air and vacuum dispensing equipment on its 165 sites - there will be two units on each site. The two parties will then share the revenues from the equipment.
The shares rose 0.5p to 6p.
