Van Dieman Mines is still on course to commence production at its Scotia tin mine in December.
The ramp up to full production should be completed by April 2009.
The company will use the first few months of production to assess the most efficient way of mining the area.
Development of the nearby Endurance mine will be delayed while the company gains experience of mining at Scotia. A second mine is planned at Scotia and that should be operational in mid-2009. Mining at Endurance will start later in the year.
At 1.75p a share, Van Dieman Mines is valued at £2.7m.
