Overview

Archial Group is the new name for SMC Group. The architect was an Aim favourite after it first joined the market on 10 June 2005 at 43p a share. SMC raised £4.6m at that time. It was highly acquisitive and bought 10 companies following its flotation but it ran into trouble because of the pace of expansion. A 19-for-five open offer at 8p a share raised £13.3m net at the beginning of 2008. See also SMC Group.
