Botswana Diamonds

Overview

Botswana Diamonds joined Aim on 2 February 2011 after it was spun off from African Diamonds as a result of the latter's takeover by TSX Venture Exchange-quoted Lucara Diamond Corp. Botswana Diamonds holds exploration licences in Botswana, plus a 35.42% stake in a company with exploration interests in the Democratic Republic of Congo. There are plans to invest in Zimbabwe and Cameroon exploration licences. A listing on the Botswana Stock Exchange is planned. An introduction price of 7p a share, valued Botswana Diamonds at just over £7m. The shares closed at 6.25p on the first day of trading. No new money was raised.
