Newcastle-based Chieftain provides pipework, fabrication, environmental and engineering services. The engineering services business involves managing the servicing and maintenance requirements of the plant and machinery of chemical plants and refineries. The fabrication business operates the largest pipework facilities in the UK. An increasingly profitable sideline for the fabrication business is the provision of skilled workers for customers. The marine outfitting division installs insulation for warships and offshore oil platforms. The environmental services side removes asbestos from buildings.
