KleenAir Systems International

Overview

KleenAir Systems International supplies filters to clean up vehicle emissions. It thought that new emissions standards for London taxis would create an opportunity but its technology wasn't price competitive. Undaunted it believes it is in a much stronger position to capitalise on the need for lorries to meet the emissions standards of the London Low Emission Zone. Since February 2008 lorries greater than 12 tonnes have to meet Euro III emissions standards if they want to come into London. Kleenair's technology uses metal filters. From July 2008 vehicles of more than 3.5 tonnes and coaches have to comply with Euro III standards which will increase the market. Light commercial vehicles have to comply in 2010 and then in 2012 all of the vehicles will need to meet Euro IV standards. KleenAir has a non-exclusive distribution agreement with DCL International of Canada to market DCL's patented Partial Flow particulate matter ("PM") control devices in the UK. KleenAir raised £1.25m at 45p a share when it joined Aim on 20 March 2006.
