Symphony Environmental Technologies has developed its own additive called d2w, which, when added to plastic, makes it degrade and disappear leaving no residues. This is called oxo-biodegradable. Symphony doesn't manufacture the additive it licences it to its customers around the world. The business was founded in 1995 and its original business manufactured plastic bags. Symphony Energy is developing a technology that can be used to recycle tyres. The polymer can be turned into steel, oil and carbon black.
