XCounter AB is developing technology for the capture of digital x-ray images using low dosages of radiation. Stockholm-based XCounter was founded in 1997 and joined Aim on 1 February 2006, when it raised £16m at 155p a share. On 19 June 2007, XCounter raised £15m (£13.8m net) via a placing and one-for-eight open offer at 190p a share. Xcounter acquired 49.8% of Oy AJAT for an initial €3.4m plus up to €1.05m in deferred consideration. Finland-based AJAT manufactures radiation detection and imaging devices for the medical and industrial sectors.
